Doctors
Shekhar has been trained as general surgeon and endorsed by Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.Following initial training as general surgeon, he gained further experience in colorectal sub-specialty as his area of interest, while maintaining skills as general surgeons. In addition to providing services in his area of interest, he also offers a wide range of general surgical services. He participates in continuing medical education, as endorsed by the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and operates according to AMA Code of Ethics. He is also an active member in the professional community as a teacher with Faculty of Health Sciences at Adelaide University and holds the title of Senior Clinical Lecturer.

Trish has had training as a registered nurse before changing career as secretary. With her extensive experience spanning almost three decades, she runs a tight ship.Lesley has extensive experience of the service industry and has worked in Centerlink as well as a nurse before joining us and helps us out when needed.
Dr. Shekhar Sharma
I am a general surgeon with approx. 20+ years of experience and strongly believe in “ethical & quality care in a team” with patient at the focus and primary decision maker. I do all general surgical work with a special interest in colorectal surgery.
I assist patients with simple, concise & inclusive discussions to help them make an informed decision about their treatment plan.
I am very active academically, hold the position of Senior Clinical Lecturer in Faculty of Health Sciences and have numerous publications. I have received “Prof Derek Frewin AO Citation in Clinical Teaching” from Adelaide University.
Trish Fleming
I have worked in the medical industry nearly three decades, starting as a Registered Nurse at the Royal Adelaide Hospital after graduating with a degree at the University of South Australia. I spent 8.5 years at the RAH when I left in 2000 to work in the private practice of Mr D. Scott Watkin until his retirement in 2018. I am pleased to have the opportunity to continue with Gawler Surgical Specialists as their Practice Manager/RN.
I live in Hewett with my husband, Mark and our fur baby, Monty. We enjoy spending time at the river when we can and quiet nights at home with some fine wine and a good movie. I also enjoy musical theatre and spending time with our family and friends.
